Pump Up Your Workout!!!!

Are you looking for a new pre workout supplement?  GNC's new Lit has had great reviews and has become the most talked about pre workout, also available in ready to drink cans.
When using a pre workout,  always take on an empty stomach.  Eating prior to a workout is not recommended for a couple reasons 1. the pre workout will not be as effective. If you need to eat, try to consume something 2-2 1/2 hours prior to workout. 2. consuming food right before a workout  has to be digested,  therefore blood goes to the stomach not to the muscle where needed when working out.  Did you ever wonder why we were told not to swim after we ate..This is the reason, blood goes to our stomach to digest the food.
Eating enough protein when working out is important , if protein consumption is low it is very difficult to build muscle. The more muscle we have the more fat we burn.
If protein is to low the body will start to feed off of its own muscle, the body goes into a catabolic state.

If your big into cardio and fat burning, best to hit cardio first thing in the morning on a empty stomach. Your body burns fat more efficiently in the morning.  Our bodies have been fasting all night, this way we tap in to fat burning mode instead of burning what we have consumed had we done cardio in the afternoon. By no means, am I saying to eliminate cardio if you are unable to do it first thing in the morning. And for all you who do not eat breakfast, this is the most important meal of the day.  As I stated earlier, we have been fasting all night so we must break the fast. This is why it is called breakfast.
Yes, that is correct!

Another great supplement to take on an empty stomach before cardio or a workout is L-Carnitine, which converts fat into energy. This contains no caffeine or any stimulant. The L-Carnitine shown here, contains 2gms (2000mg) per scoop.

After a workout you want to have some kind of sugar to spike insulin. The reason for this is when you are exercising you deplete glycogen(sugar)store in the muscle and it must be replenished.  This is ONLY post workout!  (All other insulin spiking will drive sugar into fat cells.)   Lifting should be done before cardio.  If cardio is done first, you deplete glycogen in the muscle, making it difficult to do your lifting part of your workout.  Finally, a protein shake should be consumed within the hour of workout and sugar spike. I personally prefer a whey isolate/hydrolyzed, which is quickly absorbed.  A shake is generally recommended, over eating protein post workout because of how quickly it gets to the muscles.
There is definitely a method to this madness.

Have a great work out and I will be providing more supplements to help reach your Nutritional needs as well as your fitness goals..
